Clearance Certificate and Public Liability Insurance cover.
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends is essential as services
will be delivered in line with the needs of the students attending the
programme._
This service is very closely aligned to the delivery of New Directions
and the Interim Standards. The Career Guidance Officer will report to
the Head of Adult Services and Ability Programme Manager. This
contract is based in CRC Schools Clontarf, Clondalkin and Colaiste Ide
Finglas and travel to other sites.
THE CAREER GUIDANCE OFFICER WILL:-
* Establish a Career Guidance Service in the CRC Schools.
* Provide Guidance Counselling for students and their families to
make positive transitions.
* Support the students on an individual and group basis to develop
career path plans and work experience programmes for the students on
the Pobal Ability funded programmes, both in the CRC Schools and
Colaiste Ide
* Work with Students, Colaiste Ide Staff and Ability Programme
Liaison Officers in supporting students with pathways to employment
* Assist with producing appropriate CV?s for each student
* Develop and deliver tailored education modules on Career Guidance
and Employment and provide counselling supports to all students when
needed.
* Network and maintain contacts with local employers
* Liaise with other Disability Organisations and Colleges in
supporting students.
* Assist with Student referrals to the HSE when required.
* Provide one to one support for Adult Services clients on occasion.
THE SUCCESSFUL CONTRACTOR MUST BE FAMILIAR WITH ALL RELEVANT NATIONAL
POLICIES AND MEET THE BELOW CRITERIA;
* A minimum of a QQI Level 8 degree with a qualification in Career
Guidance
* One years? experience of working as a Career Guidance Officer;
* Experience of working with Children or Adults with disabilities;
* Experience in advocacy;
* An awareness of New Directions and experience of providing a
rights-based approach to service provision with knowledge of
Safeguarding Vulnerable Persons or Child Protection policies.
* Experience of devising and delivering career guidance education
with a focus on participation and self-empowerment;
* Flexible, versatile person capable of building relationships with
disability groups and employers, a track record of meeting tight
deadlines, excellent project management, report writing and
communication skills. Demonstrate a willingness to develop the role.
